Airplanes and embargoes. For Qatar it is an economic war
Doha will take legal actions for the damages of the isolation decided by Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain and Egypt
Qatar considers the embargo that was decided against it by Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Egypt and Bahrain starting from last June as an "economic war". During a press conference that took place yesterday in the capital city Doha (Qatar), the spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry Lulwa al-Khater announced that the Country intends to start legal actions and seek compensation for the damages suffered by its companies.
The interruption of diplomatic relations and the closure of air, sea and land connections that was suddenly decided between the 5th and 6th of June, caused quite a few problems to the emirate, that is accused of supporting Iran and financing Islamic extremist groups. On the other hand, Qatar believes that the real goal of Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt and Bahrain is to try to influence its foreign policy.
