Civil Defense about Canadair airplane crashed yesterday in Abruzzo Region
Rome, Italy - The crash caused the death of Andrea Golfera and the severe wounding of Daniele Rett
(WAPA) - “The Comm. of Canadair, Andrea Golfera (born in Lugo di Romagna on December 15,1956), dead yesterday in late afternoon in Abruzzo Region, in an airplane crash while was engaged in the firefighting operations of a wide fire occurred in Acciano (L’Aquila). The copilot, Daniele Rett (born in Trieste on November 22, 1979), is committed at the ‘San Salvatore’ hospital in L’Aquila.
‘Deep sadness for the loss of an expert who was performing, with passion, all the possible efforts to fight the flames of a disastrous fire that menaced some houses in mountainous area’. This is the declaration by head of Italian Department of Civil Defense, Guido Bertolaso, from the local hospital where the co-pilot has committed.
‘Great anxiety for the life of the second pilot, Daniele, run in the family, - Guido Bertolaso continued – currently in the intensive-care unit of the ‘San Salvatore’ hospital.
‘We thank you all the members of the Italian Civil Defense system that are immediately intervened on the place and in particular to the colleagues of the helicopter rescue that have provided the first assistance to Daniele. Also today we continue with all the men and aircraft available in this very difficult work and we make an appeal to all Italians to contribute to fight the criminal action of those that causing the fires are the real responsible for the crash and the death of the Comm. Andrea Golfera".
