Pirates assault cargo ship in Aden Gulf

Aden, Yemen - A helicopter saves three crewmembers in the sea to escape to the capture

(WAPA) - After the seizure of "Sirius Star", a Saudi oil tanker, with 300,000 tons of oil and 25 crew members on board last November 15 by the Somali piracy, an other attack occurred today in Aden Gulf.

The "Biscaglia" ship, with Liberian flag, has been attacked "From five Somali pirates that firearms against crewmembers", said Commander of surveillance "Novose" of the French Navy, Marc Le Quilliec, to a journalist of the "France Press" agency. The ship is in Gulf's waters to protect the boats from piracy attacks, adhering France, like other Countries, among them Spain, to NAVFOR mission by EU.

Three crewmembers of "Buscaglia" were in sea to avoid the capture by pirates, not just have spotted the European military helicopters of NAVFOR that patrol the area, and then to be rescued by a Linx helicopter by the German Navy. (Avionews)
