Air France replaced all Pitot tubes on its Airbus aircraft
Paris, France - Speed sensors changed on long-haul A-330s and A-340s
(WAPA) - Air France has completed the replacement of all sensors "Pitot tubes" on its long-haul Airbus A-330 and A-340 aircraft, following June 1 accident in which 228 people were killed on board of flight AF447 from Rio de Janeiro to Paris, SNPL pilots' union spokesman Erick Derivry told today the "AFP" press agency.
Pitot tubes are among the main suspects to have caused the tragedy, even if both the carrier and the airplane's manufacturer insist that there still is no evidence that these are the real cause of the accident. It is anyway a fact that in the last moments before the disaster some inconsistent speed data had been collected. (Avionews)
