Turin-Caselle airport back to regular operations
Turin, Italy - Agreement reached in the evening with Aviapartner workers
(WAPA) - The protest of the workers of the handling company Aviapartner at Turin-Caselle airport is over, after a two-day strike that had totally frozen all flight operations. Things have come back to normal this morning, as an agreement has been reached between Aviapartner, SAGAT (Turin airport operator) and the trade unions.
The deal, achieved after long and difficult discussions held in the prefecture, gives the 24 Aviapartner employees who were about to be laid off the possibility to choose between 2 years of redundancy, the creation of a cooperative and a transfer. SAGAT and Aviapartner have also committed to help their re-employment in sight of the foreseen increase of traffic at Turin-Caselle.
Passengers had to face several problems in the past two days, as most of the flights have been cancelled or diverted to Milan, Cuneo and Genoa airports. The airline Blu Express has also filed a charge against unknown people. (Avionews)
