Air Berlin lands in Naples with a new network from Capodichino

Naples, Italy - The carrier has also acquired and integrated all German domestic flights and all routes to and from Italy previously operated by TUIFly

(WAPA) - German airline Air Berlin (AB) continues its expansion in the Italian market and today announced its transport offer from Naples airport. With the operating beginning of the winter season -from October 25, 2009- the carrier has acquired and integrated all German domestic flights and all routes to and from Italy previously operated by TUIFly, becoming the leader carrier on the Italy-Germany line.

The airline has recorded a good response on the new routes from Naples to Germany with the winter schedule which foresees 7 weekly flights and a series of connections that allow to reach six German cities: Hamburg with two flights, Berlin-Tegel with up to six flights, Cologne with four, Dusseldorf with one, Hanover with two and Stuttgart with three flights per week.

Summer schedule 2010
With the summer schedule the Air Berlin group will add five new destinations, some previously operated by TUIFly, enhancing its offer from Naples in March 2010. The carrier will fly for the first time directly to Hamburg with four weekly departures and in Switzerland, linking Naples with Zurich three times a week. Later on are also scheduled direct flights to Berlin, with an improvement of the offer towards the German capital.

Those who want to discover the Dominican Republic might catch the opportunity to travel to Punta Cana every Friday, via Munich. During summer 2010, Air Berlin will link Naples with Spain, with a flight to Jerez d.l. Frontera every Monday via Stuttgart. Instead, those who don't know the German cities yet will have the possibility to visit Munich and Frankfurt with its comfortable direct flights.

Flights can be booked and purchased on the airberlin.com web site, in travel agencies or calling Air Berlin's call center. Tickets are available from € 49 for route, all inclusive: taxes and frequent flyer topbonus miles. The price of the flight also includes place assignation, 20 kg luggage allowance, snack, beverages and magazines offered on board.

Air Berlin is listed in the stock market since May 2006. Last year it carried a total of 28.6 million passengers worldwide. The company has more than 8,200 workers. In 2008 only the airline has received more than 10 quality service and customer care awards. The fleet is one of the youngest in Europe. Its modern jets guarantee a reduction of aviation emissions thanks to fuel consumption effectiveness.
