Italy: ENAC orders workers back to work after Fiumicino inefficiencies due to Flightcare employees' assemblies

Rome, Italy - President Riggio expressed his concern for the regularity of air transport during the upcoming winter holidays

(WAPA) - "The Italian Civil Aviation Authority (ENAC) announced that, due to the interrupted discussions between trade unions and the Flightcare company, which manages ground handling services on behalf of certain airlines at Rome-Fiumicino airport, several workers' assemblies are currently underway and are creating serious difficulties to hundreds of passengers at Rome's airport, in wait either to board or to collect their luggage.

While expressing its concern about the lack of regularity in air transport services today, but also in sight of the upcoming winter holidays, ENAC said that today it has asked the prefect of Rome to order workers back to work.

As he did in similar occasions, president Riggio also urged the guarantee commission for strikes in public services to adopt the most suitable initiatives to reduce problems for passengers". (Avionews)
