Italian ENAC simplifies procedures for aircraft wet lease hiring
Rome, Italy - EAL-07A circular issued
(WAPA) - "ENAC, the Italian Civil Aviation Authority, announced that it has issued Circular EAL-07 A "Rental of aircraft by holders of licenses to operate air services" to simplify licensing procedures for aircraft rentals - wet leasing - by national carriers.
The ruling, inspired by similar procedures adopted in other countries, for example, by the Civil Aviation Authority of the United Kingdom, will allow national carriers greater flexibility and speed in use of aircraft for hire, especially in emergency situations and immediate needs, such as rerouting of passengers or any damage to aircraft in the companies fleet.
This circular is therefore a further guarantee of the regularity of air transport in the period of increased traffic.
Specifically, the circular sets out the procedure to be followed by a company holding license to operate air services and Air Operator Certificate (COA) for approval by ENAC of aircraft lease agreements that the company subscribes as a renter (lessee), and in particular to deal with situations related to immediate needs, unforeseen and urgent than in the past were known as "Wet lease at short notice".
The procedure is different in cases of rental of aircraft by national carriers, by carriers of other EU countries than by carriers of third countries.
The circular is available on Authority's website www.enac.gov.it. (Avionews)
