Regional act unlocks 94.3 million for the Sardinian airports
Cagliari, Italy - No more duplication of routes and flights reduced
(WAPA) - Stop the overlap between routes with public service obligations and those in competition or low-cost, fewer resources in the high season of summer, but at the same time more during low season.
These are the guidelines for seasonal adjustment of the routes approved by the regional government of Sardinia under the resolution approved yesterday.
Each airport management company, says the decision, "Will have access to funds provided only following a detailed work program, prior binding opinion of the competent Commission Board. The management company will then highlight the action they intend to implement the policy of seasonal adjustment and upgrading of air transport. In addition to the economic level, companies must disclose those private investors who benefit from the increase of air traffic and willing to participate in work programs with their own resources".
By resolution of Sardinia Region, to enhance the seasonal adjustment of tourism, also allocates 94.3 million Euros of incentives. Only in 2010 funding will be available to 19.7 million Euros, while for the next three years, 2011 to 2013, the allocation will amount to 24.5 million Euros. (Avionews)
