OAG: the longest and shortest flight of the year

(WAPA) - OAG - Official Airline Guides, the global travel and transport information company, in the Review of 2006 has calculated the longest and shortest flight of the year.
In the first case, the longest scheduled route flown in 2006 was between Newark and Singapore with an elapsed time of 18 hours and 40 minutes. The flight is operated by Singapore Airlines using an Airbus A-340/500 to cover the 15,325 km.
The shortest scheduled route flown in 2006 was between Papa Westray and Westray in the United Kingdom with an elapsed time of 2 minutes. The flight is operated by Loganair Scotland Airline using a Britten-Norman Islander to cover just 14 kms.
