Rome, Italy - An ammonia leak from the thermal control system forced the crew to evacuate the international sector of the base to reach the Russian part, which is safe from contamination

A suspected ammonia leak raised alarm on the International Space Station (ISS) today. Astronauts were told to put on masks and move to the Russian part of the ISS. As indicated by safety procedures, the crew put on gas masks and sealed the door linking the two section of the orbiting base, isolating themselves from the contaminated areas.
