Alitalia airplanes and Lufthansa. The repayment of the bridge loan is one of the aspects of the talks

Rome, Italy - For the commissioners negotiations are still ongoing and there is the will to rethink maintenance

To know the final outcome of the sale procedure of Alitalia it might be necessary to wait until after the election next March: to write that today is "Milano Finanza", according to which negotiations with Lufthansa are continuing and talks would be now about the time and methods to return the nine hundred thousand euros bridge loan that the Italian Government granted to the airline in special administration, and which shall be repayed at the end of the sale process. Meanwhile at an informal meeting with unions' representatives of workers that took place yesterday morning in a hangar at the Rome-Fiumicino airport, the commissioner of Alitalia Luigi Gubitosi explained -according to what other media reported- that negotiations are still ongoing, with the goal to create the basis for a long term business plan. Gubitosi would have also announced the intention to bring maintenance back into the company and review its costs, together with the supply contracts regarding engines and parts. Moreover there would be the will to make the in-house expertise available to other carriers too. On the topic also see AVIONEWS
