Parliaments' Presidents of G7 meeting in Italy (September 8-9) on terrorism issue
Rome, Italy - It will take place in Rome, Naples and Pompei; the third rendezvous in the Italian Country after 2001 and 2009
Also a special session will be dedicated to the terrorism during the 15th Conference of the Chambers' Presidents of the G7 Countries that will take place in September (8-9) between Rome, Naples and Pompei. After the recent attacks in Spain that underline the urgency of a more intense international cooperation, the Italian Chamber of deputies President Laura Boldrini has proposed to reinforce collaboration in terms of intelligence and coordination between the Police forces, but also possible initiatives to prevent radicalization phenomena, in particular of the young people. The conference will be opened in the morning of September 8 in Montecitorio with the speech by Laura Boldrini and then by the European Parliament President, Antonio Tajani. Then the topic sessions will begin. Two will be after that one on terrorism in the morning. The session on "Parliaments opened to favour the citizens effort" will be introduced by Norbert Lammert, President of the German Bundestag and by John Bercow, speaker of the British House of Commons. Another one will have Geoff Regan, speaker of the Canadian House of Commons. In the afternoon of the same day will be the Italian Council of President Paolo Gentiloni. Then the fourth session will be introduced by Tadamori Oshima, speaker of the Japanese Chamber of proponents and by François de Rugy, President of the French national Assembly. In the evening the delegations will go to Naples and the day after will be hosted by the Italian Republic President Sergio Mattarella in Villa Rosebery, and then a visit in Pompei. It is the third time that Italy hosts this conference, after 2001 and 2009. The choice to hold the event not only at the Parliamentary site, but also in Naples and Pompei, wants to be the occasion to admire the cultural and artistic wealth of the South of Italy.
