British Airways invests in catering
Starting from 17 January the new high-altitude menus will be served
The carrier British Airways announced an investment of several million pounds for catering in the World Traveler cabins (long-haul economy class) introducing a new and extensive menu with a wide choice of dishes and snacks served during the flight.
Previously, customers travelling in the cabin received a free snack, a three-course meal or a light meal, depending on the time and duration of their connection, as well as the free hot and cold drinks bar service.
Passengers will be served a four-course meal.
On long-haul short-haul routes to destinations such as New York and Dubai, passengers will also receive a sandwich with eggs and watercress with a bar of chocolate or cereal.
A warm meal will be served on longer day connections to destinations such as Cape Town and Hong Kong. A hot English breakfast will also be served on longer flights that are operated during the night.
On the daytime from London, passengers can choose from a wide range of ice creams, while those traveling on night flights will have a box of sweets available.
The British reference company also serves the main local menus on its routes.
It will also serve typical breakfast for the Far East routes and an Indian variant.
Travellers seeking special treatment can also pre-order meals on flights from Heathrow up to 24 hours before their flight.
British Airways has launched an important investment plan, with a commitment of about 4.5 billion pounds, which includes the installation of the wifi network, renewing 128 long-haul aircraft with new interiors and taking over 72 new aircraft. The carrier is also investing 600 million pounds specifically in Club World, with a focus on catering, a new seat with direct access to the corridor. This year BA will inaugurate six new routes (Nashville and Seychelles).
