New bust for Ronaldo at Madeira airport
The bronze substitution took place between Thursday and Friday
On the theme of the "2018 World Football Championship" that has kicked off in these days in Russia, a curiosity that brings to the headlines the airport of Madeira, which was named after the footballer Cristiano Ronaldo on the wave of enthusiasm for the victory of Portugal's national team in the European championship held in France. On the occasion on the ground of the airport was placed a bust of the footballer, immediately criticized for the lack of similarity with the original so as to cause a true "case" on social network.
On the week-end rumors reported about a substitution of the bronze occurred quietly. The news was confirmed in these hours by Hugo Aveiro, Ronaldo's brother, and by Duarte Ferreira, director of the airport. The latter has declared to the Portuguese "Lusa" that the replacement has actually taken place on the night between Thursday and Friday, upon request of the CR7 Museum, managed by the family members of the Real Madrid footballer. The new bronze, instead, has reported Aveiro to the "Madeira Economic", is more similar and was commissioned by relatives of Ronaldo to a Spanish sculptor. The work has less wrinkles and the player does not give a hint of a smile as in the previous bust takes a more serious pose.
