Frankfurt (2): airport resumed activities
Many flights cancelled following the temporary closure of T1
As reported by the Frankfurt airport police, Germany's main airport has resumed full operational activity after area A of Terminal 1 was evacuated and closed due to a man who had evaded security controls; a scene that recalled what happened on July 28th at Munich airport, where a woman inadvertently caused the exact same problem.
According to a spokesman of the airport Lufthansa flights -generally operated at T1- were those mainly affected causing about 49 cancellations, and many of these will probably be returned to tomorrow; passengers will be accompanied if necessary in a hotel. The airline has announced on "Twitter" that will do everything to ensure that by this afternoon the cancelled connections are rescheduled, some of which could already be done even if the inconvenience due to closure will affect for many hours on take-offs and on landings.
