Strasbourg attack: budget of 3 dead and 13 injured
Searching open to the man who could have escaped to Germany
3 dead and 13 wounded: these are the numbers left by the attack of last night at a Christmas market in rue Orfèvres in the center of Strasbourg, the city where the European Parliament is located. An attack with a semi-automatic firearm that would have been done around 20 from 29 year-old Chérif Chekatt, already known for radicalization by the French intelligence, who after firing on the people managed to escape by appropriating a taxi barricade in a house in the near Neudorf district. The police, even with the help of helicopters, tried to block him and in a gunfight the man was injured in one hand, but managed to escape again; French law enforcement agencies are on his trail as well as those of neighboring countries since as explained this morning by Interior Minister Christophe Castaner- the 29 year old could have escaped to Germany.
The anti-terrorist attorney general's office is working on the attack, and a meeting of the Council of French Ministers at the Elysée will be held this morning at 10 am; but what remains unexplainable is how he managed to escape without great difficulty and because the security measures had not been maximized after yesterday morning the blitz in his apartment to arrest him -done by Gendarmerie- had failed, but inside his house explosives had been found and some rifles.
