Collision in flight for two German Eurofighter aircraft
Today in the skies of northern Germany: the two pilots took the turn -2 VIDEO
Two Eurofighter fighter planes belonging to the Luftwaffe, the Air Force of the Federal Republic of Germany, collided in the skies of Jabel, in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, northern Germany. It happened at 2:00 pm local time for reasons still unknown. The two airplanes were most likely taken off the military side of Rostock-Laage airport, where they were deployed. It seems that the two pilots managed to eject themselves and that they are safe. After the collision at least one of the two fighters caught fire, falling into flames about ten kilometers from where the second plane fell. Both crashed to the ground in green areas, they triggered fires of such proportions as to require the intervention of fire-fighting vehicles and rescue, especially in light of the fact that some debris fell into a living area.
The news was confirmed both by the authority of the land of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, and by a spokesman for the Luftwaffe. Investigations are ongoing.
