Libya, Haftar launched raid on Mitiga airport
Hit the drone control room. Suspended flights
The battle for Tripoli is continuing unabated. Forces loyal to General Khalifa Haftar, accused of the air raid on a detention center for migrants that caused dozens of victims (see AVIONEWS), bombed Mitiga airport yesterday evening, the only functioning in the Libyan capital. Flights have been suspended. "Our air forces destroyed the main control room of the drone aircraft in Mitiga airport", claimed on Twitter spokesman for the Libyan National Army (LNA), General Ahmad al-Mismari. Meanwhile, the United Nations has requested an independent investigation and openly talk about a war crime: yesterday's bombing in Tagiura would not be a mistake for a missed target (near the center for migrants there is a weapons depot used by forces of Fayez's al-Serraj) but a premeditated attack on civilians.
