Leonardo: appointments at the end of the mandate
A few months from the deadline, Profumo appoints new managers
A few days ago three new managers were appointed to Leonardo's top management. Enrico Savio as head of the Strategy & market intelligence organizational unit; Giovanni Soccodato as Chief Strategic Equity Officer; Roberto Cingolani as Chief Technology & Innovation reporting directly to Profumo. This last name is the one that is the most discussed. The secretary of Uilm Antonio Apa, in particular, while not questioning the scientific preparation of Cingolani, wonders what relevance his preparation can have with the new assignment that foresees the direction and management of the evolution of the innovative technologies of the Group that deals with defense technologies, given that Cingolani has so far directed the Italian Institute of Technology that deals with robotics, nanotechnologies, computational sciences and life tech.
Other appointments are about to be launched. The appointment as general manager of Leonardo of Marco Zoff (son of the great goalkeeper of the Italian national team), today Chief Procurement and Supply Chain Officer, appears imminent.
Given the expiry of the three-year mandate of Profumo at the beginning of next year, all these appointments are difficult to understand even taking into account that both Deputy Prime Minister Di Maio and Deputy Prime Minister Salvini appear cold towards CEO Profumo.
