Haftar hits and destroys L-39 plane at Misurata airport in Lybia

General Manfour suggests civilians stay away from militia rallies

On 7 August the militias of the Libyan National Army (LNA) of Khalīfa Belqāsim Ḥaftar destroyed an L-39 Albatros aircraft of the Government of National Agreement (GNA) landed at the Misurata airport after leaving the Mitiga airport.

The bombs are often thrown very close to the civilian tracks to the point of having caused not only the concern of General Mohamed al-Manfour who invited the population to stay away from the groupings of the likely terrorists in Misrata, but also of Alessio Cavicchioli the Italian commander of the Bilateral assistance and support mission in Libya (Miasit).

Violent acts of force continue despite requests for a truce by the UN (see AVIONEWS). A situation that alarms even the 300 Italian soldiers and their families near the war zone, also considering the statements of Ahmed al Mismari, spokesman for the Libyan national army that repeatedly asked Italy to withdraw its contingent at Misrata.
