Swiss fighter planes escorted Putin
Routine air procedure as an act of hospitality and safety - VIDEO
On August 19, in Geneva, two Swiss fighter planes of the Swiss Air Force escorted for a few minutes the plane of the Moscow delegation carrying President Vladimir Putin, assistant to President Yuri Ushakov, press secretary Dmitry Peskov and some Russian journalists before landing in France for the meeting with President Emmanuel Macron.
Dmitry Peskov, press secretary for the President of Russia commented: "It is not the first time that it has happened. We have sent a note and the Swiss authorities have replied that it was a kind of hospitality act".
Dolphin Alman, a representative of the Swiss Air Force, has also confirmed that accompanying State planes with fighters is a "routine air police procedure".
