The People have won - VIDEO
The people of Hong Kong has been heard: today, on September 4, Chinese leader Carrie Lam, after threatening to declare a state of emergency (see AVIONEWS), formally withdrew the extradition bill that triggered months of violent protests and has plunged the territory into its greatest political crisis in recent decades.
In a pre-recorded statement, Lam presented four proposals to "engage in dialogue" between the government and Hong Kong residents.
