Rescue helicopters arrived in the Bahamas on Wednesday September 4 to rescue survivors of the "Dorian" hurricane: the United Nations said more than 70,000 people needed immediate assistance after one of the most powerful Caribbean storms ever recorded devastated 'archipelago.
"We know that Dorian has killed more than 20 people, but we expect this number to increase because it will take some time before we have the full update", said Bahamian Prime Minister Hubert Minnis.
Below, a video from an aircraft showed the devastation on the Abaco Islands: the port, the shops, a hospital and the landing areas of the airport were destroyed.
