"Brexit": today House of Commons said ok

358 votes in favor, 234 against

First approval by the Parliament of the United Kingdom for the law on the ratification of the "Brexit" by January 31. The document, modified by Boris Johnson after the overwhelming victory in the December 12 elections (see AVIONEWS), reached "the OK" of the House of Commons today, with 358 yes and 234 no, as widely predicted given the absolute majority obtained by the Tory during the votes. Work will continue after the Westminster works stop at Christmas, before being completed before the middle of next month.

Johnson commented: "The 'Brexit' will be implemented by January 31 and the country will be able to look ahead. The next will be a great year for the United Kingdom, not only for the EU exit, but also for a fund boom for the NHS, for infrastructure investments and new opportunities in our great Nation, it will be the beginning of a new era in which the UK will be a champion of free trade, innovation and of science, able to face challenges with old and new friends in the world".
