Aircraft and transport: Austria ceases flights with France, Spain and Switzerland
Starting next Monday. Two red zones isolated in the country
Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz today during a press conference called to announce new measures to fight coronavirus, has informed that from next March 16 the country will cancel all connections by airplane to/from Spain, France and Switzerland: "In some Countries, the virus spreads particularly quickly. Therefore, from Monday we are forced to block air traffic with these countries, as well as to conduct checks on the border with Switzerland".
Meanwhile, the government has identified two red areas: Kurz has also announced the isolation of the Paznaun valley and the St. Anton ski center, where outbreaks occur. Among the measures aimed at combating the epidemic, and contained in the new decree presented by the chancellor, also the closure on the ground of 47 minor crossings with Italy. The Brenner pass, Resia pass, Prato alla Drava and Tarvisio remain open.
