Rapid tests on coronavirus at Cyprus airports
The measure will be implemented in the coming days on arriving passengers
Short from the world. In the coming days, Cyprus will introduce quick tests to identify any passengers with new coronavirus among those arriving at its three international airports (Larnaca, Paphos and Ercan). This was announced on Monday by the Minister of Transport and Communications Yiannis Karousos, who specified that the new test will give results in 90 minutes. "This will eliminate the obligation, for those arriving, of a 'quarantine' at the hotel for at least one day pending the results of the current test which takes longer to give results. With the new testers instead we will know the results before passengers leave the airport", said Karousos again.
The Government expects the new security measure to encourage more people to choose the Eastern Mediterranean island for holidays in total health care tranquility.
