BOEING EXPECTING PROFITS UP 26% IN SECOND QUARTER

SEATTLE, Boeing said to expect a raise of 26% of profits for the second quarter of 2000. The company is continuing to benefit from its restructuring programme and there was an increase of market demand too. The industry will raise commercial aircraft production rates by 5% next year. All this even if Boeing had to recover from a 40-day high-skilled engineers' strike.
