easyJet has welcomed the deal secured by Nicarnica Aviation and Elbit Systems to incorporate the AVOID based ash detection technology into Elbit Systems EVS solution. Production will start in 2015 and the carrier aims to fit the first unit onto one of its planes to be one of the first airlines equipped with the volcanic ash avoidance system.
