Alitalia: the Government's decision within ten days
Italian Chamber: the decree for the extension of the assignment
According to some Italian Members, within ten days Luigi Di Maio will be ready to show up at Parliament to illustrate the Government's position on Alitalia. The Minister himself explained it while he was talking to the Commission of the Italian Chamber that is responsible for examinating the decree of extension to October 31st of the deadline in order to complete the former flag carrier's sale.
It is still unknown if the sale, which is currently blocked also due to the heavy employment cuts envisaged by the three proposals presented, will go ahead or if it will be decided to opt for other solutions such as a State intervention. The Italian PD Deputy Gianluca Benamati strongly requested further clarifications. Guido Guidesi (Lega) replied to wait for the standing committees' establishment planned within ten days. Di Maio would have declared that "he is pretty well informed about the subject" and that he will dedicate the right commitment to the topic, paying attention to the theme of employment, a topic that he particularly cares about.
