Canada: runway excursion for B-747/400F airplane
Injured the 4 crewmembers and semi-destroyed aircraft -VIDEO and PHOTO
A Boeing B-747/400F airplane used by the carrier Skylease Cargo made a runway excursion last night after landing at Halifax airport in Canada, causing the minor injury of the 4 crewmembers. To cause the crash to the aircraft took off from the airport of Chicago was the strong wind -16 knots with gusts up to 21 knots- that did not allow the pilots to stop the four-engine Boeing on the 2347 meters of the runway 14 of the Canadian airport, exceeding the threshold and continuing the run on the grass that end after about 200 meters after clashing against the antennas for the ILS. The damage suffered by the B-747 is substantial having broken the fuselage and the 4 engines only one (the outer one on the left wing) remained intact, while the others were destroyed in the impact with the ground.
