Planes. Also the American B-737 Max at ground: order by Trump
Boeing confirms the decision supported by FAA and NTSB
"Boeing continues to have full confidence in the safety of the 737 MAX. However, after consulting the American Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the aviation authorities and its customers around the world, Boeing has decided -for precautionary reasons to reassure customers and passengers about the safety of the aircraft- to recommend to the FAA the temporary suspension of operations for the entire fleet of 371 B-737 MAX aircraft". This is the note issued by the Seattle giant shortly after the stop to the Max 8 and 9 family ordered by the Trump administration.
"On behalf of all Boeing personnel, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives in these two tragic incidents", said Dennis Muilenburg, president, CEO and Chairman of Boeing Company.
The note concludes: "We are supporting this proactive step with the spirit of over-caution. Safety is a fundamental value for Boeing and will be so as long as we build airplanes. There is no higher priority for our company and our sector. We are doing everything we can to understand the cause of the two incidents in collaboration with the investigators, to implement safety improvements and to help to ensure that this does not happen again".
Boeing therefore supports with this note the FAA decision.
