Drug: Aki David, "heir" of the Coca Cola empire, arrested

He was carrying 5000 cannabis plants on his private plane

According to the international press Alkiviades "Alki" David, Greek billionaire, was arrested at the "Robert L. Bradshaw" international airport of the Caribbean island of Saint Kitts along with business partner and billionaire Chase Erga and actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers. Customs officials found about 5,000 cannabis plants on Alki David's private plane, as well as seeds and medicinal products worth USD 1 million and 300 thousand. The three were first stopped and interrogated for a few hours, then arrested -when they tried to leave the island a few days later- with the charge of possessing controlled drugs and importing drugs.

David, who lives on the Isle of Man, is the heir to the Leventis-David Group which holds the majority stake in Coca-Cola bottling plants. He and the Leventis family together are worth 2.6 billion pounds according to the "Rich List 2019" of the "Sunday Times". He is a great supporter of cannabis products and received the celebrity endorsement for a medicinal cannabis oil that he created.

According to the London newspaper "London Evening Standard" reporting the news, Alki stated that the cargo of plants had been purchased for his new legal cannabis business in the eastern Caribbean. The billionaire would be released after paying a substantial bail.
