Following premier Giuseppe Conte who took part in inaugural day, today it is turn by the Defense Minister Elisabetta Trenta going to the aeronautical air show of "Le Bourget", held in Paris from 17 to 23 June. The minister arrived at the show around 1:30pm. Trenta then sat at the controls of an AW-139 fire fighters helicopter, from which Leonardo obtained an order worth 75 million euros (see AVIONEWS).
In the afternoon she visited stands of Italian aerospace companies that are present at Paris airport. "I've spoken with both small businesses and international partners. This is an industry where cooperation is essential, there are very important long-term programs", Trenta said to AVIONEWS, adding that "investments also started in defense sector". Then on the project of a new European FCAS fighter bomber launched by France, Germany and Spain, she declared: "Italy is willing to all possibilities, these are both industrial and political choices".
