Profumo: "Leonardo helps growing the whole Italian industry"
At Le Bourget the CEO hopes programs to built a new European fighter converge
Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte and Defense Minister Elisabetta Trenta went to Paris "Le Bourget" Air Show to support large and small Italian companies, in a crucial strategic sector for Italian economy. From the Parisian airport Leonardo CEO Alessandro Profumo has released some statements to journalists.
Profumo illustrated the Group's five-year plan, outlining a target for revenue growth of around 6% and for gross operating profit between 8 and 10%, that would mean "zeroing the debt" at the end of the plan. Then the CEO underlined outburst given by Leonardo to many Italian SMEs present in Le Bourget these days: "Having a great player that accompanies growth and the supply chain is fundamental to transforming a piece of Italian industry".
On the project of an European fighter-bomber aircraft promoted by France and Germany, to which Spain joined, Profumo recalled Leonardo is already involved in "Tempest" program, which the company see as evolutionary rather than the Eurofighter and reiterated the hope of a convergence of the various European programs, also to optimize investments and resources of the community citizens. However he clarified that it is not up to the businesses. "These are issues that involve industrial and geopolitical choices and relations between countries", declared Minister Trenta on the subject (see AVIONEWS).
