British Airways: still inconveniences after two days of strike

Only 90% of flights are guaranteed for today

More than 1700 cancelled flights and inconveniences for 195,000 passengers due to strikes on September 9 and 10 by pilots of the British Airways -BA- (see AVIONEWS). Also today on September 11 delays will continue and only 90% of air connections will be guaranteed, even if the protests officially closed at midnight.

A BA spokesman said that airline representatives are very sorry for the flight interruption, but they are doing everything to get back to normal.

The next abstention from work is scheduled for September 27, but the professional association and the union for UK pilots called "Balpa" (British Airline Pilots' Association) had already stated that its members are ready to take part in further strikes that cost for the company GBP 40 million every day: tens of thousands of travellers have received refunds or a replacement booking with BA or other carriers (see AVIONEWS).
