USA: American troops outside the Turkish border in Syria
Turkey will soon implement a military operation
The White House announced today that US troops in Syria will be leaving the Turkish border because Ankara "will soon implement a long-planned military operation. US forces will not support or be involved in the activity and US troops, which have having defeated the territorial caliphate of the Islamic State, they will no longer be in the immediate vicinity".
On Tuesday, Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had already announced: "We have no choice but to continue on our way".
An area of delimitation will be created between the Turkish border and the Syrian areas controlled by the Kurds of the Popular Protection Unit (YPG) supported by the Americans to combat ISIS, which Turkey considers to be of a "terrorist" matrix.
The Turkish Foreign Minister, Mevlut Cavusoglu said: "Ankara is ready to clean the Syrian border from terrorists and to ensure the stability of Turkey".
