Muilenburg (CEO Boeing) renounces to company bonuses
He will to perceive them only after the return of the B-737 Max aircraft
Boeing CEO Dennis Muilenburg announced today his intention to waive his 2019 business bonuses in view of the industry crisis following the grounding of 737 Max planes.
The offer came after harsh criticism from lawmakers in last week's Capitol Hill hearings (see AVIONEWS) related to annual salaries that exceeded $ 20 million, despite two fatalities in Indonesia and Ethiopia (see AVIONEWS).
The bonuses constitute the most important slice of the salary of the CEO who has made it known, through David Calhoun new Boeing president (see AVIONEWS), of not wanting to perceive "until when the B-737 Max will not return to fly safely".
The night after the first hearing Muilenburg listened to the families of the victims for several hours. "This changed his life", Calhoun said.
