"Army-2020": Russia will invite over 130 States
"It could become one of the largest arm exhibitions in the world"
Russia will invite over 130 States to participate in the "Army-2020" forum. Russian Deputy Minister of Defense Pavel Popov announced it today during a meeting of the organizing committee of the initiative and he said: "It could become the largest weapons exhibition in the world. To ensure foreign representation in the forum, we are planning to invite delegations and industrial companies and considering the possibility of making the presence of teams of acrobatic aircraft of other countries".
Last year the military forum saw the participation of about 1500 companies, delegations from 120 foreign States, including ten heads of defense and six of the General Staff, 25 deputy ministers, 16 experts and 63 representatives of embassies in Russia with over a million visitors (see AVIONEWS).
Among the contents of the 2020 event, significant importance will be given to artificial intelligence technologies, the installation of an exhibition dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the victory over Nazi Germany, a vast scientific and commercial program. The organization is already working to improve the accessibility of transports that lead to the place of the event that will take place from August 23rd to 29th of next year near Moscow at the "Patriot Expo", at the Kubinka air base and at the "Alabino" military training camp.
