Alitalia: BoD of Lufthansa next Monday

Meeting a few days after the binding offer expires

The BoD of the Lufthansa company is scheduled next Monday, on November 18, in view of the deadline for the presentation of the binding offer in Alitalia.

A few days ago a conference call was held between the Italian partners (Ferrovie dello Stato and Atlantia) with the American carrier Delta, currently competing with Lufthansa. The latter reiterated that it did not want to invest in the Italian company unless profound restructuring and downsizing (see AVIONEWS) involving a new airline with only 75 aircraft, about 5 thousand redundancies (without ground services).

Delta instead confirmed the investment of 100 million and this makes it favored compared to the German airline (see AVIONEWS) as it would allow Alitalia a breath of fresh air if added to the new bridge loan of 400 million euros granted by the State that the would allow operations to be guaranteed until March 2020 (see AVIONEWS).
