Russia. A communication system implemented on KA-52 helicopter

High speed data transmission

The Russian Kamov Ka-52 attack helicopter was implemented with a broad-band communication platform, which provides for high-speed data transmission. CEO of the RTI (Radio Technical and Information Systems) Pavel Laptayev said: "We are developing a broad-band communication system for helicopters and the first one has been installed on the Ka-52".

Rti Systems is one of the largest defense contractors in Russia. The company is part of the AFK conglomerate. It deals with the development and production of radars, communication tools, missile technology and security systems. The Russian Defense Ministry is the company's main customer. RTI also collaborates with Rosoboronexport for the marketing of its products abroad.

Kamov Ka-52, also known as "Alligator", is a two-seater version of the Ka-50, designed for all-weather use and with a cabin capable of protecting pilots from weapons of caliber up to 23 mm. The Ka-52 has 85% of the characteristics of the Ka-50 in common. The Ka-50 is a twin-turbine attack helicopter; developed in the former Soviet Union in the early 1980s, it entered service with the Russian Federation Army in 1995.
