Some companies will not participate in "Singapore Airshow" out of fear epidemic

"Precautionary measure to protect employees"

Some companies of aviation, aeronautics and aerospace have withdrawn their presence at the "Singapore Airshow" because of the coronavirus. Among them, the US Textron Inc (a conglomerate active in the defense, aerospace and security sectors) and Gulfstream of General Dynamics Corp. The great Asian airshow, held every two years, will begin on February 11 and will end on 16 of the same month. Experia Events, organizer of the airshow, said that the initiative will not be suspended, but a considerable reduction in the number of exhibitors and visitors is undoubtedly expected. The organization also said that several doctors will be present ready to intervene in an emergency and announced on its website: "Experia Events, organiser of the 'Singapore Airshow 2020', is closely monitoring the Wuhan Coronavirus situation and will implement precautionary measures as and when announced by the government. The well-being of the visitors to the 'Singapore Airshow 2020' is very important to us. We will continue to monitor and take reference from authorities such as Singapore’s Ministry of Health to implement necessary precautionary measures in the lead up to, and during the 'Singapore Airshow 2020'. Aligned with new measures announced by the national Multi-Ministry Task Force on January 28, we have informed all our exhibitors and attendees that with effect from Jan 29, entry into or transit through Singapore will not be permitted for visitors who have travelled to Hubei in the last 14 days, as well as holders of Chinese passports issued in Hubei".

Boeing, Airbus and Lockheed Martin have expressed their intention not to give up the event and have confirmed their presence. Textron and Gulfstream instead justified their decision as a precautionary measure to protect employee health. The South Korean Air Force Group has also declared a flat rate.
