Alitalia-ITA, first official air carrier board concluded
There will be another one next November 20th
A lot of waiting, a sensational delay and finally the first Board of Directors (BoD). Yesterday, on Thursday November 12nd, 2020, the first board of directors of the carrier Alitalia-ITA (Italia Transportation Air SpA) took place, the Newco which has been talked about for months and whose industrial plan is now awaited. As of yesterday, in fact, the fateful 30 days began before the drafting of this document which will have to be submitted to the European Commission. In the first official meeting of the airline, we talked about the business plan and above all about the relaunch that will have to take place starting from 2021: the BoD was chaired by the President Francesco Caio and the work program was instead presented by the CEO Fabio Lazzerini.
Calendar is practically ready; in the coming weeks there will be several meetings before approving the document by December. Furthermore, as announced in the last few days, the second board of directors of Alitalia-ITA will already take place on November 20, even richer in ideas and decisions to be taken. The same Caio, as established yesterday, will have responsibility for the audit, the legal area and the secretariat of the board itself, without forgetting the confidentiality code that has been approved for an "orderly and transparent" flow of information. Confirmations arrived regarding the headquarters and it could not be otherwise. The offices will be located in Rome, most likely in the Eur district, south of the capital and not far from a strategic hub such as Fiumicino (see AVIONEWS). Meanwhile, old Alitalia under extraordinary administration is ready to fly back to South America after eight months: air connections with Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo will be ensured next December, as also reported by AVIONEWS.
