Scotland: plane carrying German national team makes emergency landing
The KlasJet airline plane had departed from Iceland and headed to Germany

The flight KLJ2703, operated by the Lithuanian company KlasJet, carrying the German national football team, makes an emergency landing in Edinburgh. The plane took off from Reykjavik airport, Iceland, and headed to Frankfurt. After a few hours of flight the aircraft, due to technical problems, was forced to make a change in direction, taking about 20 minutes to reach the nearby airport of the Scottish capital, where it arrived at 4 am. The problem checks are ongoing.
The German football association reassured its fans via social media: "Safety first. Safe stopover as a precaution in Edinburgh. From there, individual onward and return journeys are planned". The players were returning home after having played a match, won 0-4, valid for the qualification of "World Cup 2022" in Qatar; finally the team returned to Germany with a replacement plane.
