The US will reopen the air borders to European citizens. The measure is expected to take effect in November. It was announced by the coordinator of the Covid-⁠19 Response Team, Jeff Zients. To enter the country it will be necessary to show the documents, before boarding, certifying the vaccination or the negative result of a covid-test within 72 hours before departure.

International travellers readmitted include passengers from Great Britain, China, Iran and Brazil. American citizens who have not been vaccinated will have to show a negative covid-test the day before arriving in the US. For months, the aviation and tourism sectors had been clamoring to stop Washington's restrictions, introduced in March 2020 by the Trump's Administration and confirmed by President Joe Biden, which concerns over 30 countries. Also because Brussels has reopened its borders for those arriving from overseas.

From November the airlines will have the responsibility to collect passenger information to facilitate tracking. Data will be available to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which will also determine which vaccines will be admitter. In fact, Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) has approved three serums: Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson, not Astrazeneca, widely used in the European Union.
