China Eastern Airlines to host 78th IATA AGM in Shanghai
It will take place in June 19-21 of the next year

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced that China Eastern Airlines will host the 78th IATA Annual General Meeting (AGM) and World Air Transport Summit in Shanghai, People’s Republic of China, on 19-21 June 2022.
This will be the third time China will host the global gathering of aviation's top leaders. The AGM was previously held in Beijing in 2012 and in Shanghai in 2002.
The decision to host the 78th IATA Annual General Meeting and World Air Transport Summit was made by the 77th AGM and World Air Transport Summit in Boston (October 3-5).
The same IATA confirmed that Robin Hayes, CEO of JetBlue, will continue his duties as Chair of the IATA Board of Governors until the conclusion of the 78th IATA Annual General Meeting in Shanghai (19-21 June 2022).
Hayes began his duties as Chair of the IATA Board of Governors at the conclusion of IATA’s 76th AGM in November 2020. Due to interruptions in the cycle of governance meetings as a result of the pandemic, his mandate was extended beyond the normal one-year (AGM to AGM) cycle.
The association announced that Pegasus Airlines CEO Mehmet Tevfik Nane is Chair-elect of the IATA Board of Governors and will begin a one-year term as Board Chair at the conclusion of the 78th AGM in Shanghai.
The 77th AGM also confirmed a new slate of appointments to the Board of Governors.
