Sikorsky helicopter arrives at the "Dubai Airshow"

The "Dubai Airshow", one of the world's top exhibitions in the aviation sector, ongoing until November 18th, got underway last Sunday. For the occasion, the largest manufacturers on the planet have ensured their presence with the latest technological jewels they produce. Among these could not miss the American Sikorsky who presented the King Stallion CH-53K helicopter.
It is the largest and heaviest aircraft developed specifically for the US Marine Corps, which have been awaiting entry into service for years, postponed due to technical problems. Although the rotary-wing aircraft is subjected to an intense phase of testing, the developers say, the VMX-1 test unit has already carried out a first mission: the recovery of the wreckage of a helicopter. On September 24th, the first and only one CH-53K was delivered to the Marine Corps, which await another 30.
The aircraft is an evolution of the CH-53E. It is a transport helicopter with a maximum load of over 16,000 kg and the ability to refuel in flight. It mounts three engines of the basic version have given way to a General Electric GE38 (F406), with an improvement in performance.
