A US helicopter rental company has signed a 12 million dollar contract with a Canadian aircraft operator to pave the way for the use of electric rotary-wing vehicles in the future air cab market. The deal includes the acquisition of land to build heliports, as well as routes and new helicopters that will operate short-range connections. 

The business of the American company Blade Urban Air Mobility (New York), today is essentially based on passenger transport between the airports of the metropolis and the surrounding areas such as the Hamptons peninsula. The Canadian company Helijet, on the other hand, operates charter flights between Vancouver, Victoria and Nanaimo in British Columbia. 

Now the US company plans to use Helijet's services to launch new routes between Seattle and Vancouver, which will be operated with Electric Vertical Aircraft (Eva). This is a rapidly growing market. Suffice it to say that in the first eight months of 2021, investors have put 4.3 billion dollars into companies developing Electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing (eVtol) or Eva aircraft.
