Russia and India yesterday signed an agreement on military-technical cooperation. The understanding was reached during the visit of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to New Delhi, where he met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is a 2021-2031 collaboration plan related to joint development and production in various fields, including space and civilian nuclear industry. The pact reinforces the long-standing ties between the two countries.

The agreement provides for cooperation related to the development and supply of armaments and related services, as well as other military equipment. Moscow and New Delhi agreed on 28 points of cooperation, sealing the 21st annual India-Russia summit. The document was signed by Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu, his Indian counterpart Rajnath Singh, the head of Russia's Federal Service for Military Technical Cooperation Dmitry Shugayev, and Indian Defense Ministry Director General for Acquisitions Kantha Rao.
