The 62% of commercial aircraft operating in the United States are safe and do not suffer interference after the introduction of 5G wireless internet service. This is what the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) communicates in the last hours, which has increased the number of authorized aircraft models. These will be able to make low-visibility landings at airports where communications companies AT&T and Verizon have installed new repeaters using C-band spectrum.

"Aircraft models equipped with one among five authorized altimeters include certain Boeing 717, 737, 747, 757, 767, 777, MD-10/-11 and Airbus A-300, A-310, A-319, A-320, A-330, A-340, A-350 and A-380 models", US aviation regulators said. The word "some" indicates that not all of those fixed-wing models mentioned have an approved altimeter. 

The 62 percent share is an improvement over the authority's earlier announcement last Sunday that it had "authorized approximately 45 percent of the US commercial fleet".
